Overview
June Wayne (1918-2011) was a painter, lithographer, and designer. She was founder and director of the Tamarind Lithography Workshop in Los Angeles and later organized the Tamarind Institute at the University of New Mexico. Wayne met O'Keeffe in 1963 when she invited O'Keeffe to become a Tamarind fellow. The two remained friends over the course of O'Keeffe's later years. Wayne was interviewed by Sarah Burt.
