George Daniell (1911-2002) was a painter and photographer who specialized in portraits of actors, writers, and artists. He met Georgia O'Keeffe at An American Place in the 1940s. The two became friends and stayed in contact for a number of years. Daniell photographed O'Keeffe in 1948 on Fire Island and in New Mexico during a cross-country trip in 1952.

The collection comprises almost 200 photographs, including copy prints, film, contact sheets, documentary photographs, and personal snap shots, all relating to the life and work of Georgia O'Keeffe. Many photographs are of O'Keeffe or her New Mexico properties.
