Overview Arnold Newman (1918-2006) is acknowledged as one of the great masters of 20th century photography, in particular as it relates to portraiture. Newman was encouraged in his early work by Stieglitz and photographed both Stieglitz and O'Keeffe. Newman was interviewed by Jane Cook.
