Scope and Content Note
With the permission of The Georgia O'Keeffe Foundation, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum had copy prints made of the Foundation's Photograph Collection in 2002. The collection consists of over 1000 photographic copy prints of Georgia O'Keeffe, her New Mexico properties, her exhibitions, and miscellaneous subjects. Original photographers include but are not limited to Ansel Adams, Alfred Stieglitz, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Todd Webb. Most of the original photographs were created or collected during O'Keeffe's lifetime.
Except for photographs created by O'Keeffe, the collection is divided into series by subject which includes: photographs of Georgia O'Keeffe (arranged alphabetically by photographer); photographs of Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch (arranged alphabetically by photographer); photographs of trips (arranged alphabetically by photographer); photographs of various subjects (arranged alphabetically by photographer); photographs of exhibition installations, galleries and museums (arranged chronologically); and photographs of exhibition ephemera (arranged chronologically).
The copy print collection was intended to serve as a research reference copy of The Foundation Photograph Collection. Copy print photography was completed by Matthew Marston and the project was overseen by Jennifer Jovais, Exhibitions Coordinator and Assistant to the Curator. Ms. Jovais provided the photograph titles and information about the photographs.
In 2006, The Foundation transferred ownership of their original Photograph Collection to the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. This collection is now referred to as the Georgia O'Keeffe Foundation Photograph Collection (Georgia O'Keeffe Museum accession no. 2006-06).

Processing Information
In 2002, Jennifer Jovais, Exhibitions Coordinator and Assistant to the Curator, provided the titles and information about the photographs. She worked with A.M. Abbott, Museum volunteer, to adhere labels to the verso of all copy prints. Mrs. Abbott continued working with Barbara Buhler Lynes, Museum Curator and Emily Fisher Landau Director of the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum Research Center, to house and arrange the copy prints into categories, which are reflected in the current series titles.
Once the original photographs were transferred to the Museum in 2006, processing of the original collection was prioritized. Copy prints moved to the Research Center Archives and were under the care of Kelly Swickard, Archivist.
Final arrangement was approved by Elizabeth Ehrnst, Archivist, in 2010.
