The collection consists of interviews with Georgia O'Keeffe's surviving relatives, colleagues, friends, and employees as well as supporting project documentation. The bulk of the materials date from 2000 to 2003 and include audiocassette recordings, typed transcripts, photographs, and research and project records.
Robin McKinney Martin (b. 1954) is the owner of the Santa Fe New Mexican and the Taos News. Both papers were formerly owned by her father Robert M. McKinney (1910–2001). Her mother Louise Trigg, a prominent figure in the Santa Fe cultural community, was a friend of O'Keeffe and is credited with encouraging O'Keeffe to consent to using her painting for a series of Chamber Music Festival posters. Martin was interviewed by Sarah Burt.
