Scope and Content Note From the Collection: The Frances O'Brien Papers Relating to Georgia O'Keeffe contains materials collected by Frances O'Brien. The materials document the friendship between the two women from the mid-1940s to the early 1970s.There are approximately one hundred original letters, postcards, and telegrams from O'Keeffe to O'Brien dating from 1947 to 1971. Photograph of Mym Tuma with her works. Mym Tuma, also known as Marilynn Thuma, corresponded with Georgia O'Keeffe from 1964 to 1973. This photograph, and fourteen others, were probably enclosed in a letter from Marilynn Thuma dated September 4, 1970. Handwritten on verso: "These Forms are: Mariposa (Butterfly) 35' x 45' Almeja (clam) 28' x 36' Cuerno (horn) Only a part of Alcatraz the white lily can be seen on the table 48' x 36' All are in an unfinished state here."
