George Daniell (1911-2002) was a painter and photographer who specialized in portraits of actors, writers, and artists. He met Georgia O'Keeffe at An American Place in the 1940s. The two became friends and stayed in contact for a number of years. Daniell photographed O'Keeffe in 1948 on Fire Island and in New Mexico during a cross-country trip in 1952.

Georgia O'Keeffe Oral History Project
The collection consists of interviews with Georgia O'Keeffe's surviving relatives, colleagues, friends, and employees as well as supporting project documentation. The bulk of the materials date from 2000 to 2003 and include audiocassette recordings, typed transcripts, photographs, and research and project records.
