Manuscript of biography, undated
Overview
Notes, research, fragments of chapters, and outlines for the book Chabot wanted to write on Gallet's life. Among these are copious notes made by Chabot while she visited the Gallets and observed the Gallets' marriage and family life, as well as notes concerning Gallet's statements about her past. Gallet is very candid and none of the personal information is verified in any way. It presents as an oral history of her life during the Third Reich, survival of the fire bombing of Dresden, and subsequent life as a war bride and expatriate in the U.S. with her husband and children. She recounts many sexual encounters before and after her marriage and is frank in discussing her marital problems.
