Overview

MABEL STEWART LUDLUM [aka "Sister Mabel"; Mrs. Seymour Dewitt Ludlum] Correspondence from Dorothy Stewart to Mabel Ludlum: 1. Fourteen letters from Stewart to Ludlum, Jan. 20, 1931 - May 20, 1932. These letters are written from Santa Fe and various places in Mexico. Many of these letters and their enclosures have illustrations. 2. Six letters and one telegram, June 28, 1932 - Dec. 25, 1932, written from Mexico, D.F. and Cuernavaca. The envelope with the letter of June 25, 1932 has the initials, "D.N.S." drawn in pencil on the back flap in Medieval-style lettering, and the letter of "Late July 1932" is illustrated. The letter of August 22, 1932 discusses Diego Rivera's theories of art composition as related by Emily Edwards. The letter of Nov. 28, 1932 discusses Alice Rohrer and Katherine Hulme.
