Remejio Archuleta (b. 1933) was born in Abiquiu, where he lived until 1949, when he moved to Sacramento, California. During his teen years, he was one of a team of young village boys who worked on the rehabilitation of O'Keeffe's Abiquiu house under the direction of Maria Chabot. Archuleta is interviewed by Sarah Burt about his early years in Abiquiu and what it was like to work on O'Keeffe's house.

Award-winning graphic artist and typographer, Eleanor Morris Caponigro (b. 1941) met O'Keeffe in 1977 when she was called in to collaborate with the artist on the production of the exhibition catalogue 'Georgia O'Keeffe: A Portrait by Alfred Stieglitz'. Caponigro continued her association and friendship with O'Keeffe, designing several books for the artist. Caponigro is interviewed by Sarah Burt.

Katherine (Kay) Allred Christopher (b. 1954) is the granddaughter of Martin Bode and daughter of Elizabeth Bode Allred. Christopher's family spent summers and Christmas holidays in Abiquiu, and the Bodes frequently included O'Keeffe in their gatherings. Christopher knew O'Keeffe from these family events and is interviewed about them by Sarah Burt.

George Daniell (1911-2002) was a painter and photographer who specialized in portraits of actors, writers, and artists. He met Georgia O'Keeffe at An American Place in the 1940s. The two became friends and stayed in contact for a number of years. Daniell photographed O'Keeffe in 1948 on Fire Island and in New Mexico during a cross-country trip in 1952. Brian Francis Wynne Garfield (b. 1939) is an American novelist and screenwriter. Garfield's mother Francis O'Brien became friends with Georgia O'Keeffe in New York, and she and her son moved to Tucson in 1950. They visited O'Keeffe in Abiquiu several times. Garfield knew O'Keeffe best from 1949 to 1956 and then intermittently until 1971. Garfield is interviewed by Sarah Burt.

The collection consists of interviews with Georgia O'Keeffe's surviving relatives, colleagues, friends, and employees as well as supporting project documentation. The bulk of the materials date from 2000 to 2003 and include audiocassette recordings, typed transcripts, photographs, and research and project records.

Olga Hirshhorn (b. 1920) was the wife of art collector and museum founder Joseph Hirshhorn (1899-1981). The Hirshhorns were friends of O'Keeffe in the mid-1960s and purchased several works from her that are now owned by the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. Hirshhorn was interviewed by Sarah Burt.

Marjorie Ferguson Lambert (1908-2006), wife of well-known cowboy Jack Lambert, was the curator of archaeology at the Museum of New Mexico, the curator at the Palace of the Governors, and a research associate at the School of American Research. She knew O'Keeffe through the artist's interest in rocks and Indian artifacts and through their mutual associations with Maria Chabot and Mary Cabot Wheelright. Lambert was interviewed by Sarah Burt.

Belarmino (Mino) Lopez (b. 1958) is one of a third generation of family members to work for O'Keeffe. He came to work for O'Keeffe in 1973 as a part-time helper in the garden. He eventually became a full-time personal assistant, helping with the creation of some of her later works. He was interviewed by Sarah Burt.

Candelaria Suazo Lopez (b. 1925) was O'Keeffe's cook from 1971 to 1985. Her father, Estiben Suazo, was O'Keeffe's longtime gardener. Five of her children worked for O’Keeffe and subsequently for The Georgia O'Keeffe Foundation and Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. Lopez was interviewed by Sarah Burt.

Robin McKinney Martin (b. 1954) is the owner of the Santa Fe New Mexican and the Taos News. Both papers were formerly owned by her father Robert M. McKinney (1910–2001). Her mother Louise Trigg, a prominent figure in the Santa Fe cultural community, was a friend of O'Keeffe and is credited with encouraging O'Keeffe to consent to using her painting for a series of Chamber Music Festival posters.
